Approx.  5 pm today several police officers from the Loves Park Police, Rockford Park District and also 2 ambulances from Metro were on scene at Martin Park in Loves Park.

That is the park along the Rock River, south of Riverside Bridge.

The emergency personnel were searching two individuals in a White vehicle that was parked along the playground area.

At the time of writing this, it was not yet known what happened due to the encryption.

As of right now, police labeled the call as “Information for police”

As soon as we know more information, we will update this.

Sources are reporting a Rockford business was burglarized around 1 am this morning.  Reports of several police officers on the scene and have a perimeter set up in the area. 

A business in the area of Greenwood and Warren was burglarized. 

No suspect information, due to the encryption.

Sources are reporting several emergency personnel were working a scene at the bus station downtown at 501 W State around 8 am this morning. 

Police have yet to release information, but confirmed an “In progress person: Shooting, Stabbing, Robbery” at that location at 7:59 am. 


Tony Grimmett: “We just had a disorderly person here upset and made threats.”

Heidi Block: “This address is for the bus terminal, which is closed due to construction. According to my downtown sources, there was an incident at this time and in the vicinity, a person was detained, and there were no weapons involved. No stabbing, no shooting and no robbery.”

Several sources are saying there are numerous emergency personnel working a scene in the 4400 block of Windswept Way. 

Numerous police officers are reported to be on the scene. 

It happened last night around 11:30 pm

Police confirm there was an “In Progress Person:Shooting, Stabbing, Robbery”

No other information at this time. 

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Police Investigating Another Armed Robbery, On The East Side



 

 

 

On 8/28/18 at 8:53 pm Rockford Police Officers responded to the 2200 block of S. 4th St for a report of an armed robbery to citizens.

Officers learned the victims just parked their vehicle in the 2200 block of S. 4th St. when a gold or brown SUV stopped in front of them. Two suspects exited the SUV armed with handguns.

The suspects demanded money and property from the victims. After the suspects took the property they returned to the SUV and it fled south bound from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Both suspects were described as follows:

Black male, about 25 years old, armed with a handgun

ROBBERY: On Tuesday at approximately 7 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to a robbery in the 2600 hundred block of Kilburn Avenue (Jasmine’s Pantry). Upon arrival, officers determined a suspect entered the business and battered the female clerk. The victim was knocked unconscious, and the suspect took some of her belongings. Just after 7 pm tonight, the RPD was investigating an armed robbery to a Rockford business. 

It happened in the area of 2614 Kilburn, at the Jasmine pantry

Suspect is a thin black male, wearing a hoody. Last seen on Summerdale.

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: 4 Men Rob A Woman In Rockford



ARMED ROBBERY: On Monday, shortly before 10:30 p.m., Rockford Police responded to an armed robbery to a citizen in the 2600 block of Blackwell.

Upon arrival, officers learned the female victim parked her vehicle when an SUV with four men inside pulled up behind her. Two suspects got out, one armed with a handgun, and demanded money. The victim handed over her purse and the suspects took off. No one was hurt.

The two suspects who robbed the victim are described as black males, both about 30 years old. One was approximately 6’0”, 240 lbs., wearing all dark clothing and armed with a black handgun. The other is about 5’5”, 200 lbs., wearing all black clothing

The suspects stole the victims vehicle and then fled the scene. 

The vehicle is described as a White Lincoln SUV

Rockford Scanner™: It was once again a violent night in Rockford last night.  At least two shooting victims, several shots fired and several robberies



 

It was once again a violent night in Rockford area last night. 

At least two shooting victims, several shots fired and several robberies. 

A shooting victim at Mercy Hospital. Unknown if it happened at the hospital or the victim was brought there.
The shooting victim was at the Mercy Hospital around 12:40 am. 

Another shooting victim in the 2400 block of N Bell School rd 

Numerous shots fired incidents:

  • Westgate Parkway 
  • Cameron ave
  • Mcfarland rd
  • Crosby st
  • Huffman blvd
  • Acorn st
  • N Main 
  •  5th ave

Robberies at the following locations: 

  • Sun Valley Terrace

  • N Court 
  • Vincent ave

No suspect information on any of these violent crimes, due to the encryption.

It is safe to assume the suspects got away and are out committing more violent crimes……


 

 

Update: After posting this, the RPD did release the following:
On Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 at approximately 7:21 p.m. Rockford Police responded to the area of 1600 5th Ave. for several calls of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers discovered an outbuilding to a residence which had been struck by gunfire while citizens were nearby. No one was struck by gunfire and no injuries were reported.

Rockford Scanner™: Gunfire Exchanged During An Armed Robbery On The East Side



UPDATE:  The victim involved was an off duty police officer and her acquaintance. Suspects fired their gun at them during the robbery, then the off duty officer returned fire at the suspect. The suspect was able to get away. The business and a vehicle were struck by gunfire. No reports of injuries.

Just before 11 pm tonight, several emergency personnel were responding to an armed robbery with shots fired. 

Sources are reporting gunfire was exchanged during an armed robbery in Rockford. 

It happened to a citizen near a business (Cucina Di Rosa) near Bell School on the East side. 

The victim shot back at the suspect, during the robbery 

Suspect is described as a Male black, 5’6 and thin build, dark clothing. 

Last seen near Bell School on foot.

Several sources were reporting a lot of police officers at the Walgreens on Charles st in Rockford just after 1:30 am. 

Sources said there was a shooting/robbery.  RPD has yet to release information on it.

Rockford Scanner™: Another Delivery Driver Robbed, During A Rash Of Recent Delivery Driver Robberies

On 8/19/18 at 10:22 p.m. the Rockford Police Department responded to the 2000 block of S. 5th St for an armed robbery to a delivery driver. The victim was making a delivery when he was approached by three suspects who were armed with a handgun. The suspects demanded and took the food and money before fleeing the area westbound on foot. The victim was not injured.

The suspects were described as follows:

Suspect 1 – Black male, 6’0”, 180 lbs, mid 20’s, wearing a black hat and a black or gray jacket armed with a handgun.

Suspect 2 – Black male, 5’9”, 160 lbs, mid 20’s, short black hair, wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.

Suspect 3 – Black male, 5’9”, 150 lbs, mid 20’s, wearing a black hoodie and jeans.


Sources are reporting another delivery driver has been robbed in Rockford. 

It happened on the East side, near 2027 S 5th st

Suspects are described as 2 black males around 20 years old around 6 feet. Last seen on foot westbound. 

There has been a rash of violent attacks and robberies to delivery drivers in the Rockford area recently.

Sources are reporting the Rockford Police are investigating a couple of armed robberies 

The first one is near the area on Preston and Johnston. 

Second one is near the area of the 2700 block of Arthur ave. 

Sources said these are possibly related. 

Third robbery happened near the 3200 block of Auburn st

Robbery:
Shortly after 11 p.m., Rockford Police officers were called to the Dominos in the 2900 block of N. Main Street for a female driver who’d been beaten and robbed. The victim was making a delivery in the 500 block of N. Day Avenue. One suspect met the driver and led her to a different house where another male suspect opened the door and punched her in the face. The victim’s phone, cash, and pizzas were taken. She was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. One suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, wearing all dark clothing and a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. The other suspect is described as a black male with a thin build, 5’6, approximately 20 years old, short afro, wearing all dark clothing.

It happened around 11 pm in the 500 block of N Day. 

Unconfirmed reports are saying the suspects may have hit the victim during the robbery.

Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Beats Employee During An Armed Robbery To Business In Rockford



 

 

 

On 8-14-15 at 11:51pm officer responded to Kwik Mart, located at 1203 7th St., in reference to an armed robbery to the business.  The store clerk was behind the counter when the suspect, wearing a mask, entered the store.  The suspect jumped over the counter and demanded money.  The suspect then struck the clerk in the head with the handgun before taking alcohol and an undetermined amount of USC.  The suspect then fled the store in a light colored vehicle.

 

The suspect was described as a black male, 22-23 years old, 5’4″ tall, 120 pounds, wearing a baseball cap.  The clerk was transported to a local hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Rockford Police or Winnebago County Crime Stoppers.

Sources were reporting a victim was shot during a robbery in Rockford. 

A male approx 29 years old was robbed and shot in Rockford. 

It happened around 11:30 pm tonight in the area of the 1400 block of Arthur ave. 

Sources were reporting the suspect is a black male in a dark colored car. 

 

Unknown if it is related to this incident:

There was suspects in a Gold vehicle in the same area and same time, that committed a couple of hit & run accidents.

 

On Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:44 pm, Officers of the Rockford Police Department responded to 1400 Arthur Ave in reference to a shooting victim. Preliminary investigations indicate the 29 year old victim was struck by a single round of gunfire. The victim sustained a single gunshot to his thigh. The injury was reported to be non life threatening.

A tan colored sedan was reported to have been seen leaving the area after the shooting.

Several sources reporting a woman was robbed this morning in Rockford.

During the robbery, the suspects stabbed the victim over 30 times.

It took police almost an hour to arrive on scene after being called several times.

We tried to get a statement from RPD,  they said no comment.

RPD call log shows this as a medical assist.
