Rockford Scanner™: Officials Release Information On A Serious Accident, One Person Flown From The Scene




ON APRIL 26, 2019 AT 2:52 PM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, BYRON POLICE DEPARTMENT, BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT, BYRON AMBULANCE, AND THE OREGON AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES IN THE 7,000 BLOCK N. RT. 2.

A SILVER CHEVROLET 3500 TRUCK WAS SOUTH BOUND ON RT. 2 WHEN A GREY CHEVROLET 1500 TRAVELLING NORTH BOUND CROSSED OVER INTO THE SOUTH BOUND LANE.

THE CHEVROLET 3500 DROVE ONTO THE SHOULDER ATTEMPTING TO AVOID THE CHEVROLET 1500 WHEN THE TWO TRUCKS STRUCK HEAD ON. BOTH TRUCKS SLID OVER INTO THE NORTH BOUND LANE COMING TO A STOP.

THE DRIVER OF THE CHEVROLET 1500 JON R. STANLEY, AGE 57, OF DIXON WAS EXTRICATED FROM HIS TRUCK BY THE BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEN FLOWN TO ST. ANTHONY’S HOSPITAL BY LIFE FLIGHT HELICOPTER WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES.

THE DRIVER OF THE CHEVROLET 3500 HOWARD C. BARH JR., AGE 64, OF GALENA WAS TRANSPORTED TO SWEDISH AMERICAN HOSPITAL BY THE OREGON AMBULANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES.

THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
