UPDATE #2 – SUSPECT ARRESTED

The suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing on campus Saturday night has been arrested.
Abdul Raymond Olajide Danyiwo, was arrested by police Sunday evening in Lansing, Ill. He was charged with two (2) counts of Aggravated Battery (Class 3 Felonies) and one count of Burglary (a Class 1 Felony) for illegally entering the building with intent to commit a crime.
UPDATE #1 – SUSPECT IDENTIFIED AND WARRANT ISSUED
The Northern Illinois University Police Department (NIUPD), in concert with the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office, has issued a warrant for the arrest of Abdul Raymond Olajide Danyiwo, of Lansing, Illinois for two (2) counts of Aggravated Battery (Class 3 Felonies).
According to authorities, Danyiwo allegedly got into an altercation with another man at a residence hall, stabbed him several times and then fled the area. The victim was transported to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and treated for his injuries. Neither the victim nor the assailant are NIU students or affiliated with the university. The two men were known to each other and the attack was the result of an ongoing dispute.
Danyiwo is described as an 18- year-old, dark-skinned male, 5’9” tall, weighing 145 pounds. When last seen he was wearing a black Adidas jacket. NIU Police are investigating an aggravated battery that occurred on December 1, 2018, at approximately 9:39 p.m. in Grant North C Tower. The victim reported that an individual armed with a knife assaulted him. The subject left the building and fled the area.
The suspect is described as follows:
Dark skinned male, 18 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches, weighing approximately 145 pounds, wearing black shoes, black hat and a black jacket.
