Rockford Scanner™: Rockford woman has been indicted by a Grand Jury for a stabbing in Rockford

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Rockford woman has been indicted by a Grand Jury for a stabbing last month in Rockford.

On April 6th, 2019, Rockford Police Officers were called to the 1400 Block of Chestnut Street for a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers learned that a female had been stabbed, and transported to a Rockford hospital. The victim was subsequently treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Rockford Police Detectives conducted a follow up investigation that was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized against the defendant, Lsean R. Gilmore (D.O.B. 6/14/1976). Gilmore was recently indicted by a Winnebago County Grand Jury on Aggravated Battery charges.

Aggravated Battery is a Class 3 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 2-5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Gilmore is scheduled to be arraigned at 9:00am on May 16th, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Randy Wilt in Courtroom B of the Winnebago County Criminal Justice Center.


The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
