Rockford Scanner™: Victim Speaks Out After Being A Victim Of A Recent Shooting Incident And How The RPD Treated Her Family Poorly

Victim Speaks Out After Being A Victim Of A Recent Shooting Incident And How The RPD Treated Her Family Poorly

UPDATE: After we posted this, the victim contacted us and said the Rockford Police (LT of Investigations)  contacted her after reading about the article on our website and they do plan on investigating this shooting incident more in depth now and are going to have patrols in the area as well for the victim.

RS Fan Angie contacted us after her house was shot up on Thursday night and was frustrated at how the Rockford Police department treated her family after the shooting, and wanted her story to be told.

On Thursday April 25th 2019 a little after 9 PM in the 2800 block of Ashland ave, two suspects went to her house to try to kill her boyfriend. They shot numerous gunshots into her house. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Just emotional injuries and property damage.

She sent us several photos of the damages.

She said the Rockford Police came to her house to investigate the shooting.

She contacted us initially and said: ” Two men came to my home Thursday evening around 9 pm and proceed to shoot 8 rounds minimum into my home, 2 through my headboard area, then the proceeded to shoot through the living room area blowing holes through the couch, literally blowing the pillows off my couch. This was a planned out attempted murder on my boyfriend who was here that night.”

She said she feels the Rockford Police have treated her family poorly during the process and also she feels they did not properly process the evidence at the scene.

There was 2 crime scene units at her house to gather evidence. She pointed out several gunshot holes with bullets still inside the holes, to the officers.

She said the officers were rude to her and failed to gather the casings and bullets and other evidence while at the scene, that she clearly pointed out to the officers but they refused to gather the evidence.

She said an officer on the scene told her: “This isn’t CSI lady” and how it was not a high enough profile case to gather all the evidence at the scene.

Her family had to literally pull out the bullets from the walls and other areas of the residence, by themselves and had to take it down to the District 1 station.

She took the evidence down to the police station, and the RPD refused to accept it as evidence.

Angie says “I still have slugs in my wall, brought one down here to get their attention and have a cigarette butt from where the shooters were standing…police didn’t want it, like I said two CSI vans where there and they didn’t give one shit. Told me this isn’t high profile enough to even gather all the slugs, let alone the cigarette butt, the threatening texts sent to my boyfriend one hour before the shooting saying “We’re coming for you motherf**ker”
the police just brushed it off.”

She said the officer said they talked to her neighbors, but she went and talked to her neighbors and they said the only thing the officers on scene said to the neighbors was for them to go back into the houses, and never asked them if they saw or knew anything. So the neighbors might know more information, but the police officers on scene did not ask them. Only demanded them to all go inside.

She told the officers who the suspects were and even showed the police the text message the alleged suspects sent just prior to coming over and shooting. The text message said “We’re coming for you motherf**ker

She said she explained to the officers who the alleged suspects were and the possible motive, and tried to give them the evidence they refused to gather at the scene. (When she was at the District 1 station)

And the officers did not want to take her serious, even though she was the victim and explaining to the officers what had happened and who did the shooting.

She said “The cop who’s name is on the incident report, did everything but flat out call me a liar!”

She told the officers that she was not happy with the way they were treating the case, and she told them she was going to talk to us, and the officers got upset that she was going to make her story public.

She told us when she told the officer she was going to go public with her story: “I was going public to Rockford Scanner with this story. That officer cursed your names hard!

She said “That’s when I realized that we are going to have to investigate our own attempted murder ourselves and started taking my own pictures.
And I got scolded for that, but I know my rights and the police aren’t going to tell me I can’t take pictures of my own gawd damn house!”

She also says “The district attorney, no one would see me there either until I told them I was going to interview with Rockford Scanner then they sent out a victims advocate who apologized and said the investigation must be ongoing”

“This really sucks and I just can’t believe it even happened, let alone how it went down, then how the police treated me and throwing their garbage in my yard, everything…I’m feeling pretty low on the pole here” Angie says.

RS Fan Louveanger Dishman “Why the neighbors didn’t hear any shots why the police didn’t come that morning she need to move around and just accept he don’t want her why lie and play with somebody lively hood just bitter, did she tell she threw his clothes in the middle of the street and then went to the police station.

It’s a shame somebody can say you did something to them and you got a warrant without proof”
