It happened around 3:30 am in the area of Broadway and 6th st.

A vehicle is on fire near this location. The vehicle is fully engulfed.
It is close to other vehicles.

Unknown if it is occupied. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Rockford Scanner™: Auto Accident With Entrapment, Possible Vehicle On Fire

On Thursday, January 24, 2019, shortly after 2:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the intersection of West State Street and Pierpont Avenue for a two-vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers learned a red car, traveling southbound on Pierpont Avenue, ran a red light.

The car then collided with a burgundy minivan, traveling eastbound on West State Street.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old female, and two adult male occupants of the minivan were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed at this time that alcohol likely played a role in the accident.


It happened around 2:10 pm today near the area of W State and Pierpont.

There is an auto accident near this location.

A vehicle is on fire and someone is trapped inside the vehicle.

Several emergency personnel are en route.

UPDATE: No fire. Three ambulances dispatched.

Sources are reporting a vehicle fire with someone possibly inside the burnign vehicle in Rockford.

It happened around 5 am near 3924 N Alpine. According to Google, that is the North Park Fire Department address.

Reports of a Silver vehicle on fire and an unconscious person inside the vehicle.

No other details at this time.

Just after 4 PM Rockford fire department were responding to a vehicle that was on fire.

It happened in the area of Central Avenue and Cunningham on Rockford’s Westside.

Several units from the Rockford fire department are in route. No reports of injuries at this time.

This is still developing, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Reports of a vehicle on fire at the Farm & Fleet on W State st. 

Unknown if it is occupied, or injuries.

Around 7:40 pm tonight, emergency personnel were dispatched for a vehicle that was on fire in Rockford. 

It was originally dispatched as Springfield and Montague. Emergency personnel were on scene investigating.

They were not able to locate anything at this intersection. A short time later, the location was updated at Springfield and Cunningham.

Emergency personnel are en route to that location to investigate. Still developing

It happened in the area of W State and Meridian. 

All the occupants inside, were able to safely escape without injury.
