Arrest made in the murder and decapitation of 2-year-old Kyrian Knox

UPDATE:

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Tuesday an arrest had been made in the murder and decapitation of 2-year-old Kyrian Knox, whose remains were found in the Garfield Park lagoon in 2015.

Guglielmi said police will hold a press conference to discuss the arrest at 5 p.m.

A year ago, the FBI positively matched Knox’s DNA with that of a dismembered body found in the lagoon in September 2015. Knox had been reported missing from Rockford, Ill., two months before the match was made. His mother said at the time he was staying with a family friend while she moved from Iowa to Chicago.
