Sources are reporting a shooting incident on the East side.

“There was a shooting over on Crosby and Benton last night as well. At least 4 gun shots and 2 cars. Heard about 10 people screaming like they were fighting.”

Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Hits A Police Squad Car While Fleeing From police in Rockford


Sources are reporting a police squad car was struck by a fleeing vehicle in Rockford. It happened just after midnight near Summit and Benton. 

Suspects are in a Black 2011 4 door Hyundai with a plate # AH17088 that comes back to an address on Pecan st in Rockford.  Tire damage to the vehicle,  officers deploying measures to stop the vehicle. Last seen eastbound from the scene. 



Rockford Scanner™: Victim Stabbed On The East Side, Police Investigating


RPD said this was a home invasion and the victim was stabbed during the home invasion, but did not release any other information on it.

Sources are reporting a scene in the 1000 block of Benton around 1 am.

Sources said their neighbor was stabbed in the hand with a butcher knife  during a fight.

Injuries are believed to be non life threatening.

No suspect information at this time.

Several emergency personnel are on scene


Rockford Scanner™: Police Arrest Suspects In An Armed Robbery

Armed Robbery: On Friday, December 14, 2018 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 1200 block of Benton Street in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned the 32-year-old male victim had met with two juvenile females in the area. While talking with the females, two male suspects, one armed with a firearm, approached the victim and ordered him out of his vehicle. The victim was struck in the head before he was robbed of cash and property. The two females and two male suspects fled on foot.

A short time later, SCOPE officers took one of the females and two male suspects into custody in the 1200 block of Crosby Street. The second juvenile female was located at a residence on Daisy Avenue. Both female juveniles were arrested on outstanding warrants. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charges against the suspects.

Marcus Bergman, 33, Rockford: Armed Robbery

Delano Jones, 18, Rockford: Armed Robbery

Juvenile Female, 17, Rockford: Parole Violation (Warrant)

Juvenile Female, 17, Rockford: Parole Violation (Warrant)

Jones and Bergman were lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. Both females were lodged in the Juvenile Detention Center. The charges against them are merely accusations. All four suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Rockford Scanner™: Two Juveniles Stabbed, One Person In Custody





Freeport, IL. – 17 year-old girl in custody following an investigation into a large fight that resulted in two juveniles being stabbed.

On June 21st, 2018, at approximately 1:54pm, Freeport Police officers responded to the intersection of Benton Avenue and Jackson Street for a report of a group of approximately fifteen juveniles fighting.

Responding officers located two female juveniles who had reportedly been stabbed by a 17 year-old female juvenile who fled the scene on foot prior to officer’s arrival.

Both of the juvenile stabbing victims were subsequently transported to Freeport Health Network Memorial Hospital by Freeport Fire Department ambulances.

Within minutes of responding to the scene Freeport Police officers located the 17 year-old female juvenile suspect at a home in the 200 block of S. Cherry Avenue, and she was taken into custody without incident.

One of the victims, a 15 year-old female juvenile, was stabbed in the throat area and she was transferred to a Rockford area hospital.

The other victim, a 16 year-old female juvenile, sustained stab wounds to a shoulder and her head, and she is still being treated at FHN Memorial Hospital.

Both victims are in stable condition and neither have life-threatening injuries.

We are not looking for any additional suspects in this case but we are still investigating the actions of other juveniles who may have been involved in the initial fight.

At this time it is believed that this incident started with a pre-arranged fight between two opposing groups of juveniles who have had prior animus.

The 17 year-old female juvenile suspect has been charged with nine (9) counts of Aggravated Battery and she is being held at the Mary Davis Juvenile Detention facility in Galesburg. A detention hearing for the suspect has been scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00pm.
