Around 5:30 pm tonight, several fire departments were responding to a 2nd alarm fire in Boone County.
Initial reports are saying the structure fire is near 648 Highway 20 near Cherry Valley/Boone. That address is the FPM Heat Treating.
Several fire departments are enroute to help battle the fire.

“Currently a MABAS 4th alarm structure fire in progress at FPM Heat Treat at 640 US Rte 20 in Cherry Valley. Search and rescue complete; all-clear issued. Requesting Belvidere Fire MDU (mass decontamination unit) for ammonia tank. Unit 393 to deliver. Actively pumping water now. Cherry Valley ladder truck out of service; 2nd ladder still requested. Requesting ComEd and Nicor to scene. Ambulance on site; 2nd ambulance en route. Rockford Fire en route with ladder and chief.”
Sources reporting around 3:30 pm today there was a serious auto accident in Rockford. It happened in the area of Mulford and Newburg.
Injuries were being reported. A child has life threatening injuries. The child is not breathing and they were doing life saving measures. The child was transported to a local ER. There is reports of another victim also injured on scene, unknown how severe their injuries are at this time.
On the afternoon of 10/23/18, the Ogle County State’s Attorney’s Office received a phone call in which the caller made threatening statements regarding employees of the Judicial Center, specifically the State’s Attorney’s Office and Judges.
Additional security measures where enacted on the morning of 10/24/18 until the caller could be identified and located.
At approx. 9:35 am, Jason L. Churchill, age 50 of Mount Morris, was taken into custody. Churchill was subsequently arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
Sources reporting a person has been stabbed in the shoulder in the 700 block of N Horsman in Rockford.
One person was arrested, but the arrest was not related to the stabbing. So the stabbing suspect is still on the loose. No suspect information, due to the encryption. The victims injuries are serious, but police said non life threatening.
