Two Victims Robbed and Pistol Whipped In Rockford

Around 4:20 pm today the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Broadway. Scanner traffic is saying there was a robbery and two people were pistol whipped. No other information at this time.

Update from Rockford Police

On Tuesday November 8, 2016 shortly after 4:15 p.m. patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to LC Auto Sales, 1334 Broadway, in reference to an Armed Robbery. When they arrived officers learned that two armed suspects entered the business and demanded money from employees. During the incident one of the suspects struck a male employee on the back of the head with an unknown type handgun. The employee was later transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled the business after obtaining an undisclosed amount of currency.

Based on information available at this time the following description of the suspects was developed:
Suspect #1: Black Male 18-25 years old 5’9 tall with a medium build
Black Hooded Sweatshirt / Black Pants / Unknown Handgun
Suspect #2: Black Male 18-25 years old 5’9 tall with a medium build
Gray Hooded Sweatshirt / Black Pants / Unknown Handgun

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department are conducting a follow-up investigation
into the incident. Anyone with information regarding this Armed Robbery is asked to
