A Cause to Celebrate: Rockford Systems Makes Generous Donation to Local Homeless Center

ROCKFORD, IL, NOVEMBER 17, 2016 — Rockford Systems, a member of the local business community since 1975, has teamed with Carpenter’s Place to help previously homeless men and women celebrate Thanksgiving by hosting a charity presentation scheduled for 2:00pm, Monday, November 21 at the homeless center’s 1149 Railroad Avenue location in Rockford.

Rockford Systems will be donating food, clothing and living supplies generously collected by its employees, along with presenting Carpenter’s Place with a $1,000 check to help facilitate its mission. Rockford Systems President Joe Nitiss will make the donation.

“Carpenter’s Place is changing the lives of Rockford citizens in amazing ways,” said Nitiss. “We know that our employees’ donations will go a long way to help the caring professionals at Carpenter’s Place accomplish their important goals, and that every dollar will be spent to help those in need.”
Carpenter’s Place was born 16 years ago out of the idea that individuals emerging from homelessness in the Rockford area deserve a supportive atmosphere as they battle addiction and rebuild their lives. Carpenter’s Place offers an array of practical and essential life services that center around professional, holistic, and goal-oriented case management for those caught in the downward spiral that has led to their living on the street. Guests of Carpenter’s Place work to develop a personal Life Recovery Plan that addresses key areas of life and maps a direction to a brighter future.

With the support of countless private donors, charitable groups, and the Rockford business community, Carpenter’s Place is today recognized as an innovative leader in the development of effective methods for addressing the core life issues of the chronically homeless. Its Rockford location features a home-style atmosphere, case management area, bathrooms, showers, storage for personal belongings, kitchen, classrooms, art room, laundry facility, donation room, and office space.
