Rockford Scanner™: Windy Conditions Causing Power Outages

 


 





 

Sources are reporting some power outages in the area. 

The most recent report was just a few minutes ago in the 200 block of Atwood. 

Reports of a transformer that had blown and wires were down. 

COMED has confirmed they are working 38 power outages, at the time of writing this. 


...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM CST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Indiana and central, north
central and northeast Illinois.

* WHEN...Through 4 AM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and
could compromise some outdoor tent structures. Tree limbs
could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Difficult travel is expected for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
