Rockford Scanner™: Upcoming changes in ambulance services

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office, who is responsible for the 911 Center, would like to inform the residents of the northern half of Boone County of upcoming changes in ambulance services.

On Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 12:00 pm, the North Boone District #3 Fire Department will take over ambulance duties within their district.

On April 2, 2019, a North Boone District #3 Ambulance Referendum was passed by the voters of District #3. Capron Rescue Squad, which currently provides ambulance services to District #3, will continue to provide ambulance services to District #1, District #4, District #5 and provide backup services to District #3.

This change will not affect the way citizens request an ambulance – call 911.
