Showers return this morning and are expected to last into tonight, with increasing potential for mainly snow this afternoon and evening. Scattered minor slushy accumulations (likely less than 1”) are expected, but higher rates could briefly occur in the afternoon and evening which would sharply reduce visibility.

DISCUSSION...

Areas of dense fog are likely this morning, especially along and
north of the I-88 corridor in northern Illinois.

A rain snow mix or patches of all snow are likely this morning
through midday, but are expected to change over to all snow later
this afternoon into the evening. Some minor slushy accumulation
is possible, especially this evening.
