Rockford Scanner: Stop Sticks Deployed During Police Chase

Possession of a Controlled Substance and Aggravated Fleeing to Elude

On 7/7/2020 at approximately 10:57 AM, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on 2005 Gray Chevy Tahoe at the intersection of Barker Road and Mill Road. The vehicle then attempted to flee from Deputies and a pursuit followed. As the vehicle continued northbound on Barker Road and then eastbound onto Woodburn Road, stop sticks were deployed.

The vehicle attempted to avoid the stop sticks by traveling off of the northside of the roadway before crashing with minimal damage in the 4,000 block of E. Woodburn Road.

After investigation, Deputies placed Marc Clarke, age 32 of Rockford under arrest for 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Driving While License Suspended, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Clarke was additionally issued citations for Speeding, Improper Lane Usage, and Reckless Driving.
