Rockford Scanner™: Showers with thunderstorms possible will develop and spread across the area tonight

Showers with thunderstorms possible will develop and spread across the area tonight, especially for areas along and north of Interstate 80. A warm front will move across the area Thursday. This front may not reach the Illinois Wisconsin state line until late afternoon.

There will be low clouds and drizzle north of the warm front Thursday morning. Temperatures will quickly warm into the 70s with breezy conditions south of the warm front. Thursday evening will remain warm and breezy until a strong cold front moves across the area Friday morning.

High temperatures Friday may be reached around sunrise, just ahead of the cold front. Colder air will spread across the area Friday with falling temperatures in the morning. Showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will be possible late Thursday night through early afternoon Friday.

Then Saturday night through Sunday it looks like rain will spread across the area.
