Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Incident in Janesville




 
This morning at approximately 5:30 a.m. the Janesville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of Miller Avenue. When officers arrived they made contact with the male victim.
Officers learned the victim was leaving his house on his way to work when he was confronted by a male subject armed with a handgun. The victim struggled with the suspect and multiple shots were fired outside of the home. The victim was not hit by any of the gunfire, and suffered a minor injury to his hand.
The suspect then fled the area on foot, unknown direction.
The suspect was described as:
5’10”
Medium build
Wearing dark clothing
Unknown race
Residents in the area that have surveillance cameras are asked to review their video footage around the time of this event to see if the suspect is captured arriving, or leaving the scene.
