Rockford Scanner™: Several Kilos Of Cocaine & Large Amount Of Cash & Firearms Recovered In A Large Drug Bust in Rockford

For the past 6 months, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit, and the Drug Enforcement Administration Rockford Task Force, have been conducting a narcotics investigation involving several people selling large amount of narcotics in the northern Illinois region.
On Monday, October 7, 2019, at approximately 6:45 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted in the area of North Second Street and Y Boulevard. During the course of this traffic stop, approximately 1 ½ kilograms of cocaine were located.
The investigation led officers to a residence in the 5700 block of Pepper Drive. A search of the residence located 5 ½ kilograms of cocaine and a handgun. Police seized over $105,000 USC from the residence.
The investigation continued to a residence in the 700 block of Aura where they located another 5 ½ ounces of cocaine and 2 firearms. Police seized over $14,000 USC and 2 vehicles.
The following individuals were arrested and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail:
~Jose L. Guzman (d.o.b. 01/06/78) of Rockford, Illinois.
-Possession with intent to deliver cocaine over 900 grams
-Possession with intent to deliver cocaine 100-400 grams
~Maria C. Robles (d.o.b. 11/30/80) of Rockford, Illinois.
-Possession with intent to deliver cocaine over 900 grams
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges and/or arrests are possible. The charges against Jose L. Guzman and Maria C. Robles are merely accusations and they presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
