Rockford Scanner ™: Serious Automobile Accident On Bypass 20



Around 10:48 pm the Rockford FD responded to an accident with possible extrication near Montague and 20, approx 1/2 mile East of the overpass.

3 Engines, 1 chief and 4 ambulances with 13 firefighters responded to the scene. A vehicle traveling Eastbound rolled over and landed in the Westbound lanes of traffic.

Police located 3 occupants outside of the vehicle and 1 person still inside the vehicle.

The 4th occupant was able to escape the vehicle. Extrication was cancelled.

Officials said all 4 occupants were transported to a local ER with moderate to mild injuries. No other vehicles were involved.

Westbound lanes of traffic were shut down for about an hour, but have since reopened.


Sources are reporting a serious automobile accident that happened at approximately 10:45 this evening on Bypass 20 right before Montague Road.

One vehicle has rolled over and according to initial reports.

Initial reports are of four people requiring medical attention.

The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

Many first responders and police units are currently on scene.
