Rockford Scanner wants to extend our condolences to Lori’s family and friends and the LPPD.
Sorry for your loss  🙁

The Loves Park Police Department mourns the loss of retired Sgt. Lori DePauw.

On Saturday, 10/10/20, Lori passed away after a long battle with MSA. Lori first started with the department in May of 1992, as a dispatcher. She tested and was hired by our Civil Service Commission as a police officer in May of 1997. Lori worked in the patrol division for several years before she was selected to represent the department in the narcotics unit. She made many connections throughout the region and was active in the unit for several years. Lori returned to her roots and re-established herself in the patrol division. In September of 2014 Lori was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to one of the patrol shifts. Lori worked in this capacity until her retirement in October 2018. She was the true definition of a law enforcement hero and guardian, who honorably and faithfully served the citizens of the City of Loves Park, for over 25 years.
