NWS: We are continuing to monitor the potential for wintry weather, possibly significant, late Friday through Saturday night. At this time, accumulating ice and or snow is possible across at least portions of the area. However, large uncertainty remains with the track and strength of the storm system, which will ultimately determine snow and ice accumulations and what areas are affected. In addition, there will be strong northerly winds, especially on Saturday and Saturday night, which could increase the potential winter impacts as well as possibly result in some lakeshore flooding. Be sure to keep up to date with the latest forecast updates.
A few flurries are possible this evening as a fairly quick system moves through the area with temps dropping behind the cold front. Lows tonight drop into the teens and low 20s with highs on Wednesday closer to normal in the upper 20s to around 30 degrees. Wind chills in the single digits to near 0 are expected early Wednesday morning. Our next weather system moves in on Thursday bringing windy, mild, and rainy conditions to the area. Although there is still some uncertainty with the next system after that for this weekend, the potential for an accumulating wintry mix and/or snow is increasing Friday night through Saturday night. In addition, heavy rainfall is also possible, mainly south of I-80
