Except for lingering light snow showers in parts of northern Indiana, sunshine will return to the region today. Despite the sun however, we’ll see record cold temperatures and bitter wind chills. Temperatures will drop quickly after sunset, then will slowly rise overnight as clouds increase and winds turn south ahead of another weather disturbance that will bring a chance of some light snow to the area later Wednesday and Wednesday night. Minor accumulations ranging from perhaps an inch at the WI border, to just a dusting farther south toward I-80 are possible by the time snow ends early Thursday morning. The remainder of the week will be dry, with a slight moderating trend in temperatures
