Rockford Scanner™: Police Search Vehicle in Loves Park, Labor Day Weekend

A man was pulled over on Harlem just East of Alpine around 2:30 pm today.
Police had the man sitting on the curb while they searched his vehicle.
4 police squads were on scene. At the time I was there, he was not in cuffs.
It is unknown why the man was pulled over, and his vehicle searched.

Police will be out in full force this Labor Day weekend.
SCOTTS LAW = MOVE OVER
DO NOT drink and drive!
Police have been promoting they were going to be out in full force this weekend. So I worked this scene to promote their campaign and show that police will be out and about all weekend and will pull you over, as they been promoting.  And to also bring awareness to the Scotts Law.
As for this scene, I only stopped to take photos of the scene to promote the Labor Day weekend campaign.  It appeared to be just a routine traffic stop, and the man was not in cuffs. So, I did not bother asking the officers any information about the scene, and wasting their time and mine. I was told not long after I left the scene, they let the man go.

From our friends at Q98.5:
The ISP released a statement stating troopers will be concentrating on drivers that are under the influence, distracted, speeding, or not wearing their seatbelts.
“There will be additional emphasis on DUI offenses over the holiday weekend,” read the statement.  It’s part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, which started on August 14 and lasts through September 2.
