From the BPD:

Our officers did an excellent job de-escalating a dangerous situation involving a suspect with a gun last night in the 1800 block of Yates Avenue.

Officers responded to the area for reports of one shot fired at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect, Krystal L. Scott, 39, had fired one round into the air outside her home.

When officers arrived, she exited the residence while still holding the gun in her hand.

Officers were able to verbally command her to drop the gun and walk away from the weapon before safely taking her into custody.

Scott, who had a blood alcohol concentration of .199, was arrested for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon while intoxicated.

A man at the scene caused a separate disturbance.

Charles D. Boomer, 35, was cited and released for disorderly conduct.
