Wintry precipitation returns to the region Wednesday night, and lingers into Saturday before ending. While parts of the area will see a rain snow mix, portions of northwest and north central IL will have the greatest chance of seeing light snowfall accumulation. This graphic shows relative probabilities of 2″ or more of snow.

 

Sunny and seasonable weather today, with dry and quiet conditions continuing into Wednesday. Light snow develops Wednesday night into early Thursday, with a prolonged period of light wintry precipitation expected to linger into Saturday. Some light snow accumulation possible.
