Rockford Scanner: More Burglaries Being Reported in Rockford

Recently we posted about a lot of burglaries that happened on the East side.

Now there are many reports of burglaries on the West side now as well.

RS source Mark sent us this: “Please share… We live near Auburn, between Cumberland and Hancock. On Sunday, August 23rd, between 10 AM and 3:30 PM we had our garage and backyard broken into. A red and black Gotrax electric scooter and black and gold Mongoose bmx bike were stolen. We have contacted the police but are asking our neighbors to keep an eye out for these items. Thank you and be safe.”

We have gotten numerous reports of burglaries in the area of the “Wreck-it-round-a-bout” area.  Close to where he is reporting his incident at.

We had reports that a victim chased some suspects recently. they were described as 4 black males wearing dark clothing and masks.  Unknown if these suspects are in connection to all, or just some of the burglaries. The victim chased the suspects near the cemetery near the “wreck-it-round-a-bout”  and lost them in the cemetery a few nights ago.

If you are in the area, please keep your doors locked on your vehicles and residences.

Report any suspicious activity.

We have been told there is some excellent RING camera footage of the suspects. Officials have not released any information on these incidents, or on the possible RING video of the alleged suspects.

Rockford Police now have technology to access your RING cameras.

We were told the possible suspects were caught on the RING camera nearby and RPD had access to the video of the suspects, but have not made the video public.

Map shows what police departments have access to your RING cameras.
