For the past several weeks, The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit has been receiving complaints from concerned citizens regarding the sales of narcotics in the 1200 block of Crosby Street.
A residence was able to be identified as the source of narcotics sales and, on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at approximately 9:00 a.m., a search warrant was executed at the residence in the 1200 block of Crosby Street in Rockford, Illinois.
Deputies encountered a heavily fortified residence upon arrival. Upon entry, the subject, Job M. Brooks, fought with deputies as they attempted to take him into custody. During the execution of the search warrant, Deputies located crack cocaine, heroin and a handgun. The handgun was found to be stolen out of Winnebago County.
Deputies also located evidence that the residence was being used for the promotion of prostitution. The Winnebago County States Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and authorized the following charges against the resident, Job M. Brooks:
~Job M. Brooks (10/19/62) of Rockford.
-Trafficking in persons for forced labor or services
-Possession of a stolen firearm
-Possession with intent to deliver cocaine 1-15 grams
-Possession with intent to deliver heroin less than 1 gram
-Criminal Fortification of a residence
– Resisting a peace officer
– Possession of firearm without requisite firearm owner’s id card
The charges against Job M. Brooks are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
