The sidewalk is covered in ice and snow and citizens are unable to walk on it safely.

Several sources are reporting they are frustrated that they are not able to safely walk on the sidewalks in the Rockford and surrounding cities. Saying that the sidewalks are not shoveled and citizens are unable to safely walk on the sidewalks, and have to walk in the roadways.

Also many are complaining that the side streets are not plowed or salted. And that the very poor road conditions, due to the city not salting or plowing the side streets has caused many people to fall and get injured, wreck their vehicles, and have gotten stuck, etc…

Elizabeth Zaluba said :  ” I called the Rockford Diocese office who told me shoveling was St. Peter’s responsibility. I see youth forced to walk in the streets and this has been going on for over 10 years. I know you’re all aware of this. I’m retired and crabby now. The woman who answered at the cathedral office is calling back their snow removal service. The next photos go to the city to report this if the walks aren’t cleared. Don’t plead broke on this one.   ”
