Airplane crash is labeled a medical assist.

Sad news, 1 person is confirmed dead after the plane was taking off and crashed and caught on fire. The Winnebago County Coroners office has confirmed the death. They are not releasing any names at this time. 

The King Air was taxing approx 3:40 pm.  And was taking off when it crashed.

 

The FAA/NTSB will be investigating.  Still developing.

Sources are reporting a plane crash at the Rockford Airport. 

It happened around 3:45 pm at the Rockford Airport

Reports of a plane has crashed on runway 1. 

Reports of an active fire. 

Unconfirmed reports are saying it is possibly a King Air that crashed.
Other reports are saying a single engine aircraft. 

And also that the plane was engulfed in fire. 

Unknown on the severity of the injuries. 

Numerous emergency personnel en route.
