From Brittany M.
In a world so full of hatred for the color of one man’s skin, another world exists where the only race is that of the human race, man kind and an “all for one” mentality. A world where we all bleed the same color. A world where there is no judgement based on the color of your skin, who you worship, what you believe in or who you believe in. A world of kindness. A world of love and a world of acceptance.
Today, that world showed itself to me where a black man stopped at a red light, turned on his hazards and stepped out of his car to help a disabled white man cross a busy intersection in downtown Rockford. This is the world I love. This is the world where I want my children to be raised in. This is the world MLK himself preached and dreamed about. It is a world where we should all strive to live in one day.
“When we look at modern man, we have to face the fact that modern man suffers from a kind of property of the spirit, which stands and glaring contrast with a scientific and technological abundance. We’ve learned to fly the air as Birds, we’ve learned to swim the Seas has fish, yet we haven’t learned to walk the earth as brothers and sisters”. – MLK
I think its time that we take a lesson from this picture and learn to walk, folks.
