A strong storm system is expected to impact the region late Tuesday through Thursday. As it approaches the area Tuesday afternoon and evening there will be a threat for thunderstorms across the area, some of these could be severe. Cooler weather is expected on Wednesday with continued chances for showers. While the threat of showers will come to an end on Thursday, expect some gusty northerly winds across the area. These strong winds could also produce large waves and lakeshore flooding on parts of the southern Lake Michigan shores on Thursday.
