Important Local Updates:

  • On Tuesday, March 24, the Winnebago County Health Department announced that a Winnebago County resident in their 20s tested positive for COVID-19 for a total of 7 cases in the county.
  • On Monday, March 23, the Winnebago County Health Department announced that a Winnebago County resident in their teens tested positive for COVID-19 for a total of 6 cases in the county.
  • On Sunday, March 22, the Winnebago County Health Department announced that a Winnebago County resident in their 20s tested positive for COVID-19 for a total of 5 cases in the county.
  • On Saturday, March 21, the Winnebago County Health Department announced that a Winnebago County resident in their 30s tested positive for COVID-19 for a total of 4 cases in the county.
  • On Friday, March 20, the Winnebago County Health Department announced that a Winnebago County resident in their 30s and a resident in their 40s tested positive for COVID-19.  View the news release here.
  • On Friday, March 20, Governor Pritzker issues a “Stay at Home Order” that compels residents to only leave their house for basic needs, including visiting the doctor or buying groceries, medicine, gasoline or similar supplies.   • On Thursday, March 19, the Winnebago County Health Department recommends the suspension of gatherings and events of more than 10 people.  View the news release here.

  • On Sunday, March 15, the Winnebago County Health Department announced that a Winnebago County resident in their 60s tested positive for COVID-19. This individual isolated at home and recovering. View the news release here.
  • On Sunday, March 15, Governor JB Pritzker announced that all bars and restaurants in the state of Illinois will be closed to the public, beginning at close of business Monday, March 16th through Monday, March 30th. View the Governor’s news release here.
  • On Friday, March 13, Gov. Pritzker announced all schools will close from Tuesday, March 17 through Monday, March 30 to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. View the Governor’s news release here.
  • On Friday, March 13, the Illinois Gaming Board announced that it is ordering all 10 of the state’s casinos be closed for 14 days beginning Monday, March 16.
  • On Thursday, March 12, the Winnebago County Health Department issued a recommendation of the suspension of public events due to COVID-19.  As a precaution, and in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of exposure, the Winnebago County Health Department along with other local health departments in our region, recommended that businesses, institutions, and organizations suspend all public gatherings and events of 25 people or more until further notice.  View the news release here.
