Rockford Scanner™: 27th Police Squad Crashed As A Result Of Not Moving Over. 6,272 Citations Issued

From the ISP

As of today, we have issued 6,272 citations for Move Over Law violations and we will continue to write them.

We have also lost four Illinois State Troopers this year, TWO of which were a direct result of motorists not moving over or slowing down.

Plus 27 squad cars struck this year as of today.

💙MOVE OVER in memory of Trooper Christopher Lambert.
💙MOVE OVER in memory of Trooper Brooke Jones-Story.

It’s simple.

Another one of our squad cars got hit last night while the Trooper was stopped to help a motorist that slid off the snow covered road.

That makes 27 Illinois State Police Troopers struck this year as a direct result of drivers failing to MOVE OVER and SLOW DOWN for stationary emergency vehicles.

It was a marked ISP squad car with emergency lights activated. Trooper was not injured.
