Update from RFD: The Rockford Fire Department responded to the above address for an apartment fire. The first arriving fire engine reported visible smoke on the west side of the apartment complex at an upper apartment.
After investigation a fire was found in the lower apartment.
A fire attack hose line was advanced extinguishing the fire.
The residence was not occupied at the time. Fire crews remained on-scene performing ventilation and over-haul operations.
The cause of the fire was undetermined.

Sources are reporting a possible structure fire in Rockford.
It happened around 10:20 pm near the 4200 block of Harrison ave.
Sources said there was smoke coming from an apartment.
Rockford FD arrived on scene and confirmed smoke was showing.
