UPDATE: Officials confirm 78-year-old Lavon H. Eytalis of Byron, was taken to Mercyhealth where she passed away.

In reference to the Route 2 accident scene. 

Several sources reporting two more bad accidents in the area. 

  • Bad accident on Route 2 near Kennedy Hill 
  • Multiple vehicle accident On Bypass 20 near Irene

Both accident scenes reporting injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: Police Identify Shooting Suspect, Need Publics Help Catching Suspect




We have identified a suspect in Wednesday afternoon’s shooting on Oak Street as Deangelo Thomas, 20, who has ties to the Rockford and Beloit area.

Information indicates that Thomas and another suspect were attempting to rob the 15-year-old male victim. The 41-year-old male victim attempted to intervene on the 15-year-old’s behalf. The 41-year-old male is in stable but serious condition after being shot in the abdomen. The 15-year-old male is in stable condition after being shot in the legs.

The second suspect is described as a male black with a darker complexion between 5’8” and 5’9”, a thin to average build with a goatee wearing a white baseball hat, a baby blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and baby blue retro Air Jordan shoes.

We are also looking for a newer model quad-cab full-size silver pickup truck that was used in this incident.

If you have information on either suspect or the pickup truck, please call 608-757-2244. If you spot either suspects, please call 911 immediately. The suspects are considered and dangerous, however this was not a random act and is considered an isolated incident.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.

Today there have been a couple of bad accidents in the area.

Alpine and Newburg ~ Several injuries reported

Spring Creek and Ashwin  ~  this was a rollover with extrication.

Both scenes, are under investigation.

Rockford Scanner™: MABAS 2nd Alarm, Fully Engulfed Structure




Around midnight several fire departments were responding to a MABAS (Mutual Aid) to the 2nd alarm. 

There is reports of a fully engulfed trailer that is on fire. 

It happened in the 600 block of Arcadia Drive, off of S Main



Rockford Scanner™: Two People Shot in Beloit, Still Developing



Details are minimal right now. 

Sources reporting at least two people have been shot. 

It happened in the area of the 700 block of Oak in Beloit. 

Update: 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1: 2 individuals were shot in this incident. One victim was transported to Mercy in Janesville where that individual is in critical but stable condition. The other victim was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.

Original 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1: We are currently investigating a shooting in the 700 block of Oak Street. The road will be closed from St. Lawrence Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue. Please avoid the area while we conduct the investigation.

Several sources reporting a serious accident on the East side. 

It happened around 5 pm in the area of Perryville and Spring Brooke. 

Injuries were reported.  Extrication was initially requested but cancelled. 

Traffic is backed up, avoid the area.

Aggravated Battery with Firearm – 600 Trenton Ave

On Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 1125 pm, officers of the Rockford Police Department responded to Rockford Memorial Hospital located at 2400 N. Rockton Ave in reference to a 32 year old female who arrived at the hospital that sustained two gunshots wounds to the lower body.

Officers determined the incident occurred somewhere in the 600 block of Trenton Ave . Injuries to the victim are not life threatening.

This is an on going investigation. Anyone with information related to this incident is encourage to call the Rockford Police Department or Crimestoppers.



Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle Crashes Into A Power Pole, Driver Flees

Just before 2 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to an accident in Belvidere. 

It happened in the 900 block of Julien. That is near Oak. 

A vehicle has crashed into a power pole and snapped it in two different areas.

Power lines are also down. 

The occupants fled from the vehicle. 

Police were able to detain at least one of the people they believed that fled from the vehicle. 

Power is out in the area. Unknown on restore times.

Just before 1:30 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to a possible high rise fire. 

505 N Main at N Main Manor. 

There is a possible high rise fire. 

Smoke is visible on the 12th floor. 

Several units are en route.

Rockford Scanner™: One Person Just Shot in Rockford, Still Developing


Date: 08/01/2018 1:10 am
Location: 4700 WOLVERTON LANE
On 8/1/2018 at around 1:10 AM, Officers from the Rockford Police Department were dispatched to the 4700 block of Wolverton Ln in regards to a shooting incident. Upon arrival officers met with a 32 year old male, who was suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his torso. The victim reported that he was with another subject, a 52 year old male, in the street, near this location, when they were approached by two suspects in a silver pick-up truck. The suspects, who were both armed with handguns, demanded property from the victims and after getting small personal items from one victim, fired shots, striking the 32 year old male. The suspects fled the area in the pick-up truck.

The victim that was struck by gunfire was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspects were both described as black males, 5’11” tall, thin builds, wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Rockford Police Department

Around 1:15 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to a shooting victim call. 

There is reports of at least one shooting victim in the 4700 block of Wolverton ln. 

The victim is reported to be a male. 

Unknown on the severity of the injuries.
