Metro Narcotics Unit concludes an investigation with the arrest of a Capron man on drug and weapon charges





 

The Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit concludes an investigation with the arrest of a Capron man on drug and weapon charges.

On March 5, 2020 Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit detectives were called to a residence in Capron, Illinois to assist Boone County Sheriff’s deputies with an investigation.

Metro detectives and Sheriff’s Department detectives secured a search warrant for the residence on Cloud Mist Drive. During the search warrant over 5,000 grams of cannabis and cannabis products and two firearms were seized.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gordon L. Bittner, age 26, for Unlawful Possession with intent to Deliver Cannabis (Class X Felony) and two (2) counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a convicted felon (Class 3 Felony). Bittner was later located and arrested in Racine, Wisconsin. Bittner is currently in the custody of the Racine County Jail awaiting extradition to Boone County.

A Class X felony is punishable by 6-30 years imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections. A Class 3 felony is punishable by 2-5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
