Many have asked us why we don’t do positive stuff on RS. Answer In the Article!

Many have asked us why we don’t do positive stuff on RS.

To put it short: EVERY-TIME we try to, the government or someone makes it so we can’t.

A brief example:   We were trying to either build or promote a boxing ring in the community. This way kids and adults can learn self defense and discipline.  And also if they had a beef with someone, instead of shooting they could box their beefs out in the ring.

And when we tried, the city put a quick stop to that. Saying that it was illegal for us to build a boxing ring or gym for the community, or promote an event similar to that.

Another example, we went to hold a fundraiser for someone who had cancer (and passed away later on. RIP John)  and they put a stop to that saying that we didn’t have the proper permits. Come to find out, there was no permits needed.

Another example:  Admin Will went to go do a positive story on RPD cleaning up the streets of Rockford. And went to do a story on a prostitution sting.  And they falsely arrested him!  They arrested him for telling an officer “Hi”  And RPD threw him into the arrests during the prostitution sting!!! Tarnishing Admin Wills name by falsely arresting him and tossing him into the prostitution sting.  The charges were eventually dropped.

So it went from doing a positive story on RPD cleaning up the streets of Rockford, to Admin Will being harassed and falsely arrested by RPD.   So much for positive news…

Seems like EVERY-TIME we try to do a positive story,  the government puts a stop to it…

I mean these are just a few examples of Rockford Scanner trying to do positive stuff for the community, only for the government to step in and shut it down before it even begins.

Many have been asking us to do positive stuff.  WE HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR YEARS!

So our question is:  How can we do positive stuff, when the government shuts it down???

What harm could a boxing ring do to the community?????????

So we wanted to just make a quick post on this, instead of replaying back to each and every person who has asked us why we don’t do more positive events on Rockford Scanner.

If you are holding a positive event, we are more than happy to promote it for you.  But it seems like every-time we try to do one ourselves, the government has stepped in and made it so Rockford Scanner can’t.

So we are just going to promote positive stuff that people send us instead.

Also, every time we do a positive article, people whine “This is news?” “Why is this on here?”etc…

Another example: We posted a story on saving a kitten.  And holy cow, many people flipped a lid and went off on us FOR SAVING A KITTEN!    We saved a kitten and people got mad…

So again, please explain how we can do positive news stories and positive stuff in the community, when we aren’t allowed too and tons of people complain when we do???

So hopefully this helps and answers some questions that many people have been asking!
