Farm Tractor vs Car Accident

On June 9, 2020 at 1:24 PM the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office, German Valley Fire Department, and the German Valley Ambulance  responded to a Farm Tractor vs Car accident with injuries in the 6000 block of West Montague Road.

A John Deer Farm tractor pulling a hay wagon was traveling westbound on Montague Road attempting to make a left turn into a field entrance when a Lincoln Town Car also traveling westbound attempted to pass the John Deer Tractor.  The John Deer Tractor and the Lincoln Town Car collided on the south side of the road.

The driver of the Lincoln Town Car Gerald R. Diedrich, age 83 of Pecatonica, was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital by the German Valley ambulance with a head injury. The driver of the John Deer Tractor Benjamin J. Miller, age 34 of German Valley, was uninjured in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
