It’s that time of the year again! On Sunday, we “spring forward” to daylight saving time
This means you’ll have to move your clocks forward an hour at 2 a.m. or before heading to bed Saturday night
There are a few additional things that you can do while you change our clocks that might actually save your life and a little money:
Change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, and make sure you check on your neighbors’ alarms as well.
Replace filters in air conditioning and heating units, in your refrigerators and air purifiers to save energy.
Check your emergency and storm/hurricane kits to replace anything that you may have used during the year.
Reverse your ceiling fans to the counter-clockwise direction to force cool air toward the floor.
Have your chimney swept and cleaned for potential fire hazards.
Clean out your medicine cabinets and throw away any expired medicine.
If you’ve got a battery-powered weather radio, go ahead and change the batteries on that, too.
