Around 3 am this morning a broadcast came over the scanner in reference to a home invasion that happened near 317 Underwood in Rockford.
Suspect vehicle is described as a Maroon Saturn. Last seen westbound on Crosby from Daisy
Suspects: #1 Black male wearing dark clothing and a stocking cap
#2 Black male, thin build, dark clothing.
Just before 7 PM the Rockford fire department were dispatched to 15th Ave. and Kishwaukee. Initial scanner traffic is saying that there’s an automobile accident with injuries near this intersection. A child is reported to be injured. Unknown on the severity of the injuries at this time.

On Thursday December 8, 2016 shortly after 7:00 a.m. patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to a residence in the 3200 block of Parkside Avenue in reference to a stabbing. When they arrived officers located the victim, a 48 year old female, suffering from minor stab wounds to the hands and other blunt force trauma to her head. Officers learned that the suspect, who was the victim’s ex-boyfriend, had approached the victim in the driveway and attempted to stab her with a utility knife or box cutter. When the victim attempted to flee the suspect began battering her. A male friend of the victim, 53 year old Paul Gordon, attempted to intervene and struggled with the suspect. Gordon was also cut by the utility knife during the struggle.
The suspect, later identified as 49 year old Lemuel Mitchell, attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was located and taken into custody after a brief foot chase. Mitchell was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries that he received during the struggle with Gordon. Mitchell was later lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on the following charges:

The charges against Mitchell are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases Mitchell is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
This morning around 7:20 am a Rockford Scanner fan was reporting 2 stabbing victims on Parkside ave. in Rockford. There was a fight near an alleyway. Two people were stabbed. 2 Ambulances dispatched.
Rockford police have yet to release any information, 12 hours later………

Around 1:16 am this morning an officer had a Blue vehicle flee from them in the area of E State near Mulford. The vehicle is doing around 90 MPH fleeing from an officer headed westbound near Alpine. The Sergeant told the officer to terminate the chase.
On 12/07/2016 the Roscoe Police Department was dispatched to the area of Rock Lane for a burglary and attempted residential burglary. Two male subjects were observed committing the crime before fleeing the area. The subjects were described as two possibly Hispanic males driving a small black early 90’s truck
On 12-7-16 at 1905 hours Officers responded to the 2800 block of 10th St in reference to calls for shots fired. They checked the area and discovered the residence of 2833 10th St. had been struck by gunfire. Witnesses advised a red vehicle approached the residence on 10th St and stopped in front of it. A subject in the vehicle pointed a gun at the house and fired several rounds, striking the front of the residence. The vehicle then fled northbound on 10th St. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident and no one was injured.
On Wednesday 12-7-16 at approx. 1130 hrs Officers were called to the area of S. Alpine and Larson Ave. in reference to the occupants of two vehicles shooting at each other. Witnesses described seeing the passengers of a red Mazda and a silver sedan shooting at each other. The Mazda was struck by gunfire and as a result, the driver struck a parked vehicle on the street. Two black males were then observed fleeing from the vehicle. The silver vehicle left the area and was not located. Several shell casings were located in the area. No victims were located.
We received a lot of good information that led us to making arrests on 4 men who have been connected to multiple armed robberies in our city.
Officers and Detectives worked long hours conducting a great many interviews to develop suspects and to put together the cases for the Rock County District Attorney’s Office to prosecute. This ongoing investigation has been aided by citizens within our community, surrounding Law Enforcement, and the Wisconsin State Crime Lab who all provided information on this incidents. This collaborated effort between the police and our citizens continues to send a clear message to the community that this is not acceptable conduct in Beloit.

Around 3:24 am this morning Winnebago County officers were chasing a Cadillac. The suspect is wanted on multiple warrants. . They are chasing the vehicle southbound on Arnold. Officers are chasing it now westbound on Newburg. Still developing
Update: The suspect went into the oncoming traffic and officers terminated the chase. Last seen near Broadway
