A fire near the Recycling Center has closed Blackbridge Rd and will require a detour of traffic for the next 3 hours (approximate.

Suggested detour, take N Parker Dr(HWY 51) to HWY14

Rockford Scanner™: OWI 4th Arrest

On 1-8-19 at 4:50PM Janesville Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Upon contacting the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment. The driver provided a false name to the officer initially and she was taken into custody.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located open intoxicants and drug paraphernalia. The driver was put through standard field sobriety tests which confirmed impairment. A Department of Transportation records check showed the driver had 3 prior OWI arrests and is out on bond for OWI. An OWI blood draw was obtained with results pending. The driver identified as Jasmine M. Delap, was held at the Rock Co. Jail pending an initial appearance in court.

Rockford Scanner™: Auto Accident With Injuries, Female Hit In Mouth With A Hammer

Substantial Battery / Traffic Accident
On 1/8/19 at approximately 9:30 PM, officers from the Janesville Police Department and Janesville Fire Department were dispatched to a traffic accident with injury at Afton Road and Falling Creek Circle. A vehicle had failed to yield while making a left-hand turn. A 26 year old Beloit woman was found pinned in her vehicle complaining of leg injuries. She was later transported to Beloit Hospital by Janesville Paramedics.

Several occupants exited the suspect vehicle and got into another vehicle which left the scene. Officers located the vehicle at County D and S. Indian Lake Dr. Four occupants of the suspect vehicle were transported to Mercy Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital by Janesville Paramedics and Town of Beloit Paramedics. The driver of the suspect vehicle was identified as a 16-year-old Juvenile.

Following the accident, Officers learned the suspect vehicle had left the Falling Creek Village where a disturbance had taken place. During the disturbance, a female was struck in the mouth with a hammer.

The following arrests were made:

16 year old Juvenile: Operating while suspended, Failure to Yield Right Away, Operating a motor vehicle without Insurance, Battery, and Disorderly Conduct

15 year old Juvenile: Battery & Disorderly Conduct

Samantha Guinter (28): Disorderly Conduct/Dometic Violence & Criminal Damage to Property Domestic Violence.

Sergio Maciel (27): OWI (1st), Disorderly Conduct, 5 Warrants

Tasha Sanger (35): Substantial Battery, Obstructing, Felony Bailjumping

Jamaious Shoulders (22): Parole Violation

Rockford Scanner™: Hacked Facebook Account leads to false bomb threat near Janesville

A Rock County resident had his Facebook account hacked. Unknown person(s) then issued threats against Schools, Hospitals, government buildings and government officials. The matter was investigated by the Janesville Police Department and determined to be not credible.

The Owner of the account with the initials JC had is account hacked on Friday from Iowa. The hackers also fraudulently posted the owners name, address and phone number with the threat.

Rockford Scanner™: Multiple Armed Robberies Near Janesville

Arrest of Robbery suspect for an incident that occurred in the 2800-2900 block of Woodlane Drive.

Between December 20th, 2018 and January 4th, 2019 the Janesville Police Department responded to three similar robberies in the 2800-2900 block of Woodlane Drive. During the most recent robbery we learned from the victim that the suspect handled some of his personal belongings which were then left behind at the scene. These items were processed for the presence of fingerprints by J.P.D. Identification Officer Van Fossen.

Today we developed a suspect after the fingerprints that were lifted from the victim’s personal items were matched to that of a 15 year old Janesville boy. We have charged the 15 year old with the following crimes for the robbery that occurred on January 4th, 2019:

• Robbery
• Burglary
• False Imprisonment

We will continue to investigate this incident, as we believe that the other two robberies may be linked to this crime. We strongly encourage the public to contact us if they have any knowledge of these crimes.

Community Advisory – Recent Robberies in the 2800-2900 block of Woodlane Dr.

Since December 20th, 2018 the Janesville Police Department has responded to three armed robberies in the 2800 to 2900 blocks of Woodlane Drive and adjacent area. We are providing this information to advise the public of these crimes, and to seek any information that citizens may have.

All three crimes have taken place after 11 p.m. and have the following similarities:
• The suspect was described as approximately 5’6” tall male black or hispanic, with a slim build.
He wore dark clothing, and concealed his face with a bandanna, ski mask or similar.
• Produced a handgun with a black frame and a silver colored slide.
• Two of the victims were struck in the head with the handgun during the robbery.
• The suspect confronted the victims while they were walking in the area and demanded their money, or property.

Citizens should be aware of these recent crimes, and take measures to protect themselves from becoming a victim:
• Consider walking in pairs
• Be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity to the police

Rockford Scanner™: Police Investigating An Armed Robbery

Armed Robbery- 2900 block of Woodlane Dr.

On 01/04/19 at 12:14 A.M., officers of the Janesville Police Department were sent to a Robbery call in the 2900 block of Woodlane Dr. Several officers responded to the scene and immediate area.

The victim reported being approached by the suspect, who displayed a firearm and demanded money. The suspect fled the area on foot with property belonging to the victim. The victim was uninjured in the incident.

A Janesville PD K9 team tracked the suspect from the scene however the suspect was not located. The Investigations Division also assisted with the investigation. Officers are reviewing video surveillance and this remains an on-going investigation.

Male- Unknown race, approximately 5’04”, 140, and a thin build.
Last seen wearing: Black hooded sweatshirt, Black pants, black shoes, and a black bandana with white designs, covering his face

Rockford Scanner™: House Struck By Gunfire Near Janesville

On December 30, 2018 at about 1:30 a.m. the Rock County 911 Center received multiple calls of shots being fired in the area at Beloit Avenue and Delavan Drive. Responding Janesville police officers found no one around and no disturbances.

From the information received, the shots appeared to have been fired in the 1000 block of Beloit Avenue and several shell casings were found in the street.

An unoccupied residence in that same block was struck by the gunfire. At this time no injuries have been reported and there is no clear target or motive for the shooting.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Stabbed In Face, Knife Stuck in Head

On 12-27-18 at 2:36 a.m. Janesville Police Department officers responded to 1530 Mole for a report of a male who had a knife sticking out of his head.

Upon arrival to 1530 Mole Ave. officers made contact with Maria Johnson. Maria directed officers to the kitchen where a male was found leaning over the sink with a knife stuck in his face. The handle was the only part of the steak knife that was visible, next to the subject’s nose. Both Maria and the victim said Maria caused the knife to be stuck in the victim’s face, but both said it was an accident.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where the knife was removed. The victim suffered a non-life threatening injury.

After investigation, Maria Johnson was arrested for 2nd degree Reckless Injury with a Domestic Violence enhancer. Maria was held at the Rock County Jail pending her initial court appearance.

Around 7:30 pm the JPD went to Mercy Hospital for a stabbing victim. The victim was stabbed in his hand by his girlfriend. The stabbing  happened in the 1400 block of Gartland.
