Rockford Scanner™: Serious Shooting Scene in Rockford





UPDATE

On Saturday, May 12, 2018, shortly before 5:00 p.m. Rockford Police Department patrol officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue in reference to a shooting incident. When they arrived officers located the victim, a 16-year-old male, who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Rockford Fire Department personnel also responded to the scene and determined that the victim was deceased.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department conducted a follow-up investigation into the shooting. Based on the information available at this time, the shooting appears to have been an accident and no foul play is suspected.

The investigation was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized against a 16-year-old juvenile male, who was with the victim at the time of the shooting. The juvenile male was later lodged in the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center on the listed charges. Due to the suspect’s age, his name and photo are not available for release.

The charges against the suspect are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases he is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.

This is an on-going investigation and no further details are available at this time. Further information will be released should it become available.


UPDATE: Officials confirm a young man is dead. They have not officially said how the man died. Winnebago County Coroner is investigating, and will provide more information later on.

Around 2:40 pm today several emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries.

It happened in the area of Forest Hills and Stellar in the southbound lanes.  

There is an auto accident near this location. 

At least one person is reporting injuries. Unknown on the severity of the injuries at the time of posting this.

Several sources are reporting more shots rang out in Rockford. 

This time it happened in the area of the 1400 block of Christina in Rockford arounde 11 AM. 

No reports of injuries at the time of writing this. Possible property damage.

Rockford Scanner™: Auto Accident On The East Side, Heavy Damage To The Vehicle





 

 

Sources are reporting an auto accident on Rockford’s East side. 

There is a black vehicle that has heavy front end damage and airbags have been deployed in the area of Spring Creek and Alpine

Sources say that it appears someone may be injured, based on the amount of damage, but not confirmed. 

Several construction cones are down.  

There was a hit and run at Spring Creek and Spring Brook,  might be related to this.

Rockford Scanner™: Charity Cornhole Tournament, Results Into A Brawl





DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. – A fun weekend cornhole tournament turned violent when competitors started throwing punches.

The Douglas County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual cornhole event Sunday at the Foxhall Resort to raise money for scholarships for deserving students.

Participators and supporters were seen playing the lawn game and enjoying the warm weather before a group of people disagreed about the score.

Moments later, fists started flying and explicit words were exchanged.

It was all caught on camera.
