Arrest Made in Early Morning Shots Fired Incident
On July 24, 2021 at about 4:50 a.m. Janesville police officers were called to the 2300 block of Center Avenue for a report of shots fired. Callers to dispatch reported hearing four to five shots. When officers arrived, they did not locate anyone in the immediate area but found several shell casings on a porch of a nearby residence. Witnesses reported seeing two men indiscriminately shooting a handgun from the porch toward a nearby field. A short time later the officers were able to locate one of the men and take him into custody.

At this time no one has been reported to be injured and there was no property damaged. This incident remains under investigation by the Janesville Police Detective Bureau.

Arrested: Gerson Antonio-Grenedo Rivera-Flores, 22 years old, Janesville
Charged: Intoxicated use of a Firearm
Disorderly Conduct
