Reports of Panic After Possible Gun Sighting
Sadly, Rockford PD chooses to push: CRIME IS DOWN, because it is election year to make the mayor and police look good. Hundreds of children fleeing for their lives, and Rockford PD, says "Nothing Happened" Food for thought.....
Personal note: I have talked to the owner of Flow, in the past. He is a professional upstanding guy, during the few minutes I did talk to him. He was honest, and said we are so popular that at times, there is so many kids having fun, That it is impossible, for something not to happen. Usually just some fist fights, words exchanged. My personal opinion: I think that is what happened tonight. Disorderly people.
I just find it extremely sad, that Rockford PD can not be HONEST with our community, and chooses encryption and lies.
To all you haters that say I do NOT research, before I post.
This is my text message to the Rockford PD PIO officer, asking about what happened. And as you can see, she has not (And probably WILL NOT) respond.
Even though Rockford PD told me if I had any questions, they would respond with an answer.
Do you see a response???
Rockford PD claims transparency.
But pushes "Crime is Down"
And everything has become "Domestic" related.
To make crime appear to go down.
And more money for the Peace Center.
Do your research...
I tried to get answers, for HONESTY and TRANSPARENCY.
Sadly, Rockford PD chooses encryption and silence.
Feel free to call the Rockford PD and ask yourself:
815-966-2900
I think Michelle, would be pissed if I gave out her number.
So, you all have to call 815-966-2900
Sad, that police can not just be HONEST with our community.
But I have become the bad guy, because I ask questions to get answers. And asking questions, makes you bad these days in Rockford. Food for thought.

Rockford Police Respond to Multiple Incidents Across the City, According to 72-Hour Dispatch Call Log
Please note: Rockford PD are encrypted. And have not yet released any information on any of these.
Information from the public dispatch records published on the Rockford Police Department 72-hour call log through the Illinois Data Portal shows several incidents that required police attention across different neighborhoods in Rockford over the past few days. The incidents include reports of shots fired, calls involving potential life-safety concerns, a reported battery with a weapon, and a medical assistance request. The following information is based strictly on publicly available dispatch data.
Shots Fired Investigation – Sandy Hollow Road
According to dispatch records, Rockford Police were called to the 900 block of Sandy Hollow Road on March 11, 2026, at approximately 10:14 PM. The call was logged under incident number 26-051455 and categorized as “Shots Fired.” The location falls within Reporting District RPD D2.
A “shots fired” classification typically indicates that police received reports of gunfire in the area or evidence suggesting shots may have been discharged. Dispatch logs do not always confirm whether anyone was injured or whether a suspect was located, as those details are often determined later through police investigations.
Police commonly respond to such calls by checking the area for victims, witnesses, or physical evidence such as shell casings. At this time, the dispatch log confirms the initial response but does not include additional investigative outcomes.
Person Life Safety Call – Gramercy Drive
A second call occurred shortly after midnight on March 13, 2026, when officers were dispatched to 343 Gramercy Drive. The incident, recorded as case number 26-052343, was classified as “In Progress – Person Life Safety.” The call was logged at 12:11 AM within Reporting District RPD D3.
Calls involving person life safety typically indicate that dispatchers received information suggesting someone may be at risk of immediate harm or requires urgent police attention. Situations that can fall under this category may include welfare checks, threats, or other circumstances where officers must quickly assess safety.
Dispatch records confirm the time and location of the response. Additional details about the outcome of the call are generally released later through official reports or investigations.
Life Safety Call – East State Street
Another person life safety call was reported the previous evening on March 12, 2026, at approximately 9:13 PM. Officers were dispatched to the 6200 block of East State Street, specifically 6233 East State Street, under incident number 26-052248. The call was also categorized as “In Progress – Person Life Safety” and occurred within RPD District D3.
Calls along major corridors such as East State Street can draw a quick response due to the volume of nearby businesses and residential areas. In situations involving potential life safety concerns, officers typically prioritize immediate scene assessment to ensure individuals involved are safe and determine whether additional resources are needed.
The dispatch data confirms the response time and classification but does not provide investigative results.
Battery with Weapon Report – Flintridge Drive
On March 11, 2026, at approximately 2:22 PM, officers responded to the 100 block of Flintridge Drive following a report categorized as “Battery with Weapon – Report.” The incident was recorded as case number 26-051152 within RPD District D3.
A battery with a weapon report generally indicates that a complainant reported an alleged incident involving physical harm or the threat of harm where a weapon may have been involved. In many cases, officers gather statements from the reporting party and any witnesses while documenting the incident for investigative follow-up.
Because this call type was logged as a report, it may indicate that officers were documenting an incident that had already occurred rather than responding to an active confrontation.
Medical Assist – Latham Street
Police also assisted with a medical situation on March 12, 2026, at approximately 9:24 PM, in the 1900 block of Latham Street. Dispatch logs show the call occurred at 1915 Latham Street under incident number 26-052256 in RPD District D1.
The call type was listed as “Medical Assist.” In many communities, police officers frequently respond alongside fire or emergency medical personnel to assist in medical emergencies. Officers may help secure the scene, provide immediate aid, or assist paramedics during patient care and transportation.
Medical assistance calls are common across many jurisdictions and reflect coordinated responses between police and emergency medical services.
Public Safety Response Across the Community
Dispatch records like these illustrate the wide range of calls officers handle daily across the city—from safety checks and investigations to assisting residents during emergencies. Each entry in the 72-hour call log represents an initial response recorded by dispatchers, and further details often emerge later through official reports or investigations.
Community members who see emergency activity in their neighborhoods are encouraged to rely on verified information sources and official updates whenever possible.

St. Patrick’s Day will be here before we know it, bringing parades, parties, green beer, and more to communities throughout the state. To remind motorists of the dangers of impaired driving and to help keep our streets safe, the Rockford Police Department is teaming up with the Illinois State Police and Illinois Department of Transportation for a stepped-up traffic safety campaign running from March 13 through 6 am March 23.
During the enforcement period, theRockford Police Department will be looking for drivers impaired by alcohol and cannabis, along with other drugs, including prescription medications that can affect driving. Officers will also be stepping up seat belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat belt usage rates are lowest. Speeding, distracted driving, and all traffic laws will be strictly enforced.
Whether you’re attending a party, hosting friends, or going out to a bar, keep safety at the forefront. When it’s time to leave, make sure your designated driver is sober. Remember that walking or biking while impaired, whether by alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs, can also be dangerous, so choose a sober friend to go with you. Designated drivers: Be alert for impaired walkers who may not obey street signs. It’s not about luck; it’s about smart decisions.
Other important tips:
Drunk, high or otherwise impaired — it doesn’t matter. It is never okay to drive impaired. Designate a sober driver or plan to use public transportation or a ride service to get home safely.
If you see an impaired driver on the road, call 911 and report it.
Have a friend who is about to drive impaired? Take the keys away and help them get a safe ride home.
Always buckle up!

It does sound, like the situation is under investigation.
We are awaiting updates from the Constellation Energy
Updates are being posted on the website, as they become available. Dynamic and developing situation.
Hydrazineis aninorganic compoundwith thechemical formulaN2H4. It is a simplepnictogen hydride, and is a colourless flammable liquid with anammonia-like odour. Hydrazine is highly hazardous unless handled in solution as, for example, hydrazine hydrate (N2H4·xH2O).
Hydrazine is mainly used as afoaming agentin preparingpolymer foams, but applications also include its uses as aprecursortopharmaceuticalsandagrochemicals, as well as a long-termstorable propellantfor in-spacespacecraft propulsion. Additionally, hydrazine is used in variousrocket fuelsand to prepare the gas precursors used inairbags. Hydrazine is used within both nuclear and conventional electricalpower plantsteam cycles as anoxygen scavengerto control concentrations of dissolved oxygen in an effort to reduce corrosion. As of 2000, approximately 120,000 tons of hydrazine hydrate (corresponding to a 64% solution of hydrazine in water by weight) were manufactured worldwide per year.
Hydrazinesare a class of organic substances derived by replacing one or more hydrogen atoms in hydrazine by an organic group.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 10, 2026 – 5:03 PM
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office received information this afternoon regarding a chemical exposure involving employees working during the outage at the Constellation Generating Station located at 4405 N. German Church Rd in Byron, Illinois.
Multiple ambulances responded to the scene and transported all affected employees to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment. At this time, all reported injuries are believed to be minor. There is no threat to the public.
3RD ALARM HAZMAT SITUATION CALLING ALL HAZMAT UNITS
AVAILABLE, TO THE SCENE. Sheriff confirmed there are multiples Injuries,
but NO deaths Possible explosion incident
Hazardous Materials Technicians (HazMat Techs) are trained personnel who respond offensively to chemical, biological, and radiological incidents to control releases, often wearing specialized personal protective equipment (PPE). These specialists (Level III responders) operate under OSHA HAZWOPER standards (29 CFR 1910.120) and NFPA 470/472 standards to manage, plug, patch, and decontaminate hazardous materials.
Emergency Response Reported at Byron Nuclear Plant – Multiple Patients with Alleged Chemical Exposure
Emergency responders from several agencies are currently responding to a reported incident at the Byron Nuclear Generating Station in Ogle County.
According to emergency dispatch information, a 2nd Alarm has reportedly been activated on EMS Box 12 for ambulances only at the facility, located at 4450 North German Church Road in Byron, Illinois. Initial reports indicate multiple patients may have been exposed to a chemical substance. The exact nature of the substance and the severity of the injuries have not yet been officially confirmed.
The response includes personnel from the Byron Fire Protection District along with numerous additional agencies operating under the regional Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS). A second alarm specifically requesting ambulances suggests that multiple patients may require medical evaluation or transport.
At this time, it is unknown whether the incident occurred inside a secured area of the plant or elsewhere on the property. There has not yet been any official statement indicating a radiation release or nuclear-related emergency.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission maintains strict oversight of nuclear facilities such as the Byron station, and plants are designed with multiple layers of safety systems to contain nuclear materials. Early reports circulating among emergency communications indicate the incident may involve a chemical exposure rather than anything related to the nuclear reactor systems, though this has not been independently confirmed.
As of this report:
Multiple ambulances have been requested under a 2nd alarm EMS response
Several patients are reportedly being evaluated for possible chemical exposure
Numerous emergency personnel are on scene
No confirmed threat to the surrounding community has been announced
Officials have not yet issued any public safety alerts or shelter-in-place instructions for residents in Byron or nearby communities such as Rockford, Stillman Valley, or Oregon.
The Byron facility, operated by Constellation Energy, is one of Illinois’ major nuclear power plants and has been in operation since the mid-1980s.
Residents are encouraged to remain calm while authorities assess the situation. Emergency responses involving industrial or chemical exposures at large facilities often trigger precautionary medical responses even when the broader public is not at risk.
Rockford Scanner will continue monitoring official communications and emergency channels for verified updates.
This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as confirmed information becomes available.
It is alleged that ast week the Byron Nuclear Power Plant began a refueling and maintenance outage on Unit One.
Coolant selection is intricately linked to the design and type of the nuclear reactor. To mitigate the corrosion of structural materials, the water chemistry of the primary circuit must be carefully managed. Usually, substances such as hydrogen, ammonia, and hydrazine are employed in the reactor's primary coolant. Among these additives, ammonia and hydrazine, which are nitrogen-containing additives, undergo a series of radiolysis reactions in the reactor, and the oxidation environment of the system is altered. In this review, published studies on the radiolytic behavior of ammonia and hydrazine were summarized and analyzed. For ammonia coolants, the ·OH radicals produced by water radiolysis react rapidly with NH3. The radiolysis product of ammonia, ·NH2 reacted with oxidizing species such as H2O2, ·OH, and O2. Under aerobic conditions, the radiolysis of ammonia solutions primarily led to the production of NOx−. For hydrazine coolants, NH3, H2, and N2 were formed by thermal decomposition and radiolysis. N2H4 directly inhibited the formation of H2O2 and nitrogen oxides due to its strong reducibility and ability to remove O2, ·OH, and H2O2. As the irradiation continued, NH3 was consumed and its concentration decreased, the pH of coolant tended to decrease with further increases in absorbed dose.
