Rockford Scanner™: Indictment against a Rockford woman for allegedly physically abusing an infant child




 

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a Rockford woman for physically abusing an infant child.

On August 20th, 2019, Rockford Fire Personnel responded to a residence in the 700 Block of Belmont Avenue to find a five month old baby, not breathing.

The child was taken to a Rockford Hospital and diagnosed with multiple skull fractures as well as a brain injury.

Violent Crimes Detectives conducted a follow up investigation which was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.

As a result, charges were authorized against Porshay A. Paden (DOB 9/17/1997). Paden was recently indicted by a Winnebago County Grand Jury on Aggravated Battery to a Child and Aggravated Domestic Battery charges.

Aggravated Battery to a Child is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Aggravated Domestic Battery is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 3-7 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Paden is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment at 9:00am on September 13th, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Debra Shafer in Courtroom B at the Winnebago County Justice Center.

The charges are merely allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.

On May 15th, 2019, Rockford Police Officers were dispatched to a Rockford hospital in reference to a child abuse investigation.

Upon arrival, Officers met with a doctor who had concerns about the nature of injuries to a young child.  The child was suffering from multiple fractures to both of its legs and its left arm. Detectives conducted a follow up investigation that was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.

As a result, charges were authorized against Ray S. Cherry (DOB: 2/11/2000). Cherry was recently indicted on multiple counts of Aggravated Battery to a Child charges.

Aggravated Battery to a Child is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Cherry scheduled to appear in court at 8:30am on September 19th, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Brenden Maher in Courtroom D at the Winnebago County Justice Center.

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that a Grand Jury has returned an indictment against a Rockford man for sexually assaulting a woman last month.

On August 8th, 2019, Rockford Police Officers responded to a residence in Rockford in the area of 14th Street after a report of a sexual assault. Upon arrival, officers met with a victim who was transported to a Rockford hospital to be treated for her injuries.  Sensitive Crimes Detectives conducted a follow up investigation that was reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.  As a result, charges were authorized against Juan Moreno-Jimenez (DOB: 11/24/1969). Moreno-Jimenez was recently indicted by a Winnebago County Grand Jury on Criminal Sexual Assault charges.

Criminal Sexual Assault is a Class 1 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 4-15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Moreno-Jimenez is currently in custody at the Winnebago County Jail on $350,000.00 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment at 8:30am on September 19th, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Brendan Maher in Courtroom D at the Winnebago County Justice Center.

Sources are reporting an Ogle County Board Chairman has been found dead in his home.

Reports are saying 66-year-old Kim Gouker,   was found dead in his home.

No other information at this time.

Sources are reporting an elevator extrication in Rockford.

Around 7 pm tonight there were reports of 1 person trapped in an elevator in the 2300 block of Halsted.

Reports of only 1 person trapped inside the elevator

Rockford Scanner™: Numerous Burglaries Near South Beloit




Several sources have told us about numerous burglaries that happened near the S Beloit area last night.

One source said: “Hello, I live in South Beloit Illinois. Our neighborhood was hit by thieves last night. Many neighbors had wallets and items stolen from cars. My husband lost a wallet and they stole my mother’s 2016 Honda Accord. An officer just called to inform my husband that found his wallet in a pile of other wallets outside a home on the west side of Rockford. I was hoping you could notify your followers to be on the look out for our 2016 Honda Accord, metallic grey with plates ZY28065. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.”

South Beloit Police and Rockford Police have yet to confirm this or release any information.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: 2 Different Accidents, Near One Intersection.




Sources are reporting 2 different accidents near the same location.

It happened near Forest Hills and E Riverside.

There was an accident in the intersection, and also another one that happened just West of the intersection as well.

We have been told there was non life threatening injuries.

The cause of these accidents are under investigation.








 

Rockford Scanner™: Home Invasion With Possible Injuries




Sources are reporting a home invasion in Rockford.

It happened around 9:30 am this morning in the 3000 block of Chateau.

Initial reports are saying there was a home invasion with injuries.

Suspects are 3 black males, that fled in a White vehicle. All armed with guns.

Reports that the suspects have viciously beaten a victim, but officials have yet to confirm this.

It happened around 2:40 am in the 400 block of 16th ave. 

Reports of a female with a “laceration”  we have been told it was with a knife, but officials have yet to confirm this.
