ATTEMPTED TO TAKE THE PASSENGER, CEDRIC J. MARKS, INTO CUSTODY AND HE RESISTED ARREST. HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND ARRESTED.

-CEDRIC J. MARKS DOB: 11/18/1987 OF ROCKFORD
-AGGRAVATED BATTERY, 2 COUNTS
-UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF WEAPON BY A FELON
-AGGRAVATED UNLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON

THE CHARGES AGAINST MARKS ARE MERELY ACCUSATIONS AND HE IS CONSIDERED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW

Officer M.   told me to call downtown to get the information on the scene.  I told him every-time I do, you never release information and that it was a joke to even try.  (The police promised transparency when they encrypted. They are not so transparent with the public since encrypting. They tell me they can’t release information, and to call downtown. We do, and they don’t release information.  Happens all the time…  )

So I did exactly as the officer told me to do, I called downtown to get information.  They took my info. and said they would call me back and provide me the info. on the scene.  Still have yet to hear back from them as of 12:50 am.  So it once again appears, that they will not be releasing any info on this scene either, like numerous other scenes.   They tell me they can’t release information, and to call downtown. We do, and they don’t release information.  Happens all the time…

So I can only run the information that was provided to me. And that is a 10-78 was called out, for an officer screaming for help. There was possible shots fired according to some in the area, but when I worked the scene I did not see any evidence supporting this.  An officer was reported to be injured.  The officer self transported to a local ER.  Unknown on what kind of injuries, or how bad the injuries are.   We have been told non life threatening injuries. But again, police have not confirmed this or released any information on this scene.

IF police do release information, we will update this.

I worked the scene, after numerous of the officers had left the scene. There was only 2 officers left at the scene and the vehicle they had pulled over.

First and foremost:
The police are encrypted and have not released any information or confirmed anything yet.

Sources are reporting a lot of police and emergency personnel in the area of Rockton and Halsted a little after 11 pm tonight.

What we have been told was an officer was screaming for help and a 10-78 was dispatched out.  We were told shots were fired and possible injuries.

Update: Officer is confirmed injured, was going to self transport to a local ER. Unknown what kind of injuries, or how bad.

A lot of emergency personnel from several area jurisdictions on scene, and still are arriving.

It is safe to assume, if you live in this area you may want to lock your doors and windows and report any suspicious activity in the area.

But again, as stated above police are encrypted, and have not confirmed anything or released any information on this scene.
