Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Crashes After Shooting A Man And Carjacking His Vehicle




Sources are reporting a scene on Douglas in Rockford. 

Sources said it is related to the shooting and carjacking on Rockton ave.

Sources said police chased the suspect until it crashed on Douglas. It crashed into 2 parked vehicles.  The suspects got away from police. They are currently roaming the streets of Rockford still.

RPD has not provided any suspect information.

RPD has not confirmed the chase, only saying they responded to an accident on Douglas, per their release below.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle Crashes Into A Pole, Live Power Lines Down & Fire




 

Sources are reporting a scene across from Conklin School. 

A vehicle crashed into a pole near this location.

Live power lines were down, and caused a fire.

Unknown on injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

There was a power outage in the area, that caused another situation in the area. Some people were trapped in an elevator at a building in the area, due to the power outage. And the Rockford Fire Department had to rescue the people in the elevator.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Another Shooting in Rockford, Still Developing





 

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford. 

This one happened on the West side, around 6:40 pm tonight at a gas station on Rockton ave.  Conoco (3135 N. Rockton) Details are minimal.

Sources said suspects shot a victim during a carjacking.

RPD has not confirmed anything or release any information on this.

Sources are reporting a possible shooting. 

Source sent us the following: “2900 block of Hanson St.
Not sure what’s going on, but they’ve blocked the road both ways. Supervisors and CSI are here taking pictures. Channel 17 news was here, but the police wouldn’t give them any info, and asked them to leave. The camera woman told me, she heard it was a shooting. (Unconfirmed)” Photos by RS source








 

Rockford Scanner™: Accident Wit A Child Injured in Loves Park




 

Sources are reporting an accident with a child injured in Loves Park. It happened today around 5:30 pm near Forest Hills & Riverside. 

A source said: “Very bad accident on forest hills and riverside. I seen it happen me and my boyfriend and friend got out to help them. A car sped up to try and get through forest hills and riverside and another car was turning left on riverside when they collided. A pregnant female and her 2 daughters were one the car that sped up. The little girl behind the driver(pregnant) was bleeding a lot from her nose and the other daughter looked okay. The driver of the vehicle turning left seemed okay. Both cars looked total. ”

Sources said:”High speed chase. Bald shirtless guy driving an older gray Jeep Cherokee was being chased by three Belvidere police officers on Newburg Road driving into Cherry Valley Rockford area. Belvedere police stopped at the border and let him go”

Sources are reporting a large power outage on the East side earlier today.  Reports of  a fire at a sub station near Easton Parkway. That may have been the cause of the outage, but not confirmed yet. Remember to treat any traffic lights that are without power, as a 4 way stop.
