Rockford Scanner™: Semi Accident Near Cherry Valley




Sources are reporting a traffic incident involving a semi near Cherry Valley.   It happened near Mill rd.  

It appears a semi went off the roadway near this location, causing a traffic backup in the area for awhile. It is unknown why the semi went off the roadway.  No other information is available.

Rockford Scanner™: Police Arrest Several Subjects, Take Several Guns Off The Street




During the past ten days, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department has been aggressively targeting gun crimes. Sheriff’s Department units have recovered six illegally possessed handguns, including two stolen handguns.

On August 24, 2019 at approximately 4:00 p.m., a Sheriff’s K9 Deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Kishwaukee St. and Ranger St. The vehicle matched that of a suspect vehicle in an earlier shots fired incident in the city of Rockford. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded two handguns. The driver and sole occupant was arrested:

~Jay L. Fizer Jr. Dob: 11/15/2000 of Rockford

-Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon (2 counts)
-Possession of Cannabis 10-30 grams
-No FOID

At 1945 hours a Sheriff’s TAC team officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at S. Central Ave. at Harding Ave. A Sheriff’s K9 officer assisted and a subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies located a stolen handgun and ski mask was found under a seat. The driver was arrested:

~Keon K. Winford Dob: 04/01/1993 of Machesney Park

-Possession of a Stolen Firearm
-Unlawful Use of a Weapon
-Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

On August 26, 2019 at 1:22 a.m., a Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on N. Main St. for a traffic violation. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle stopped at N. Main St. at Roscoe Rd. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted and 147 grams of methamphetamine was located. Both the driver and passenger was arrested. During the pursuit, it was discovered a handgun was thrown from the vehicle. A day light search of N. Main St. was conducted and a handgun was located in the area Deputies observed it thrown from the vehicle. Both driver and passenger were charged:

~Deonte K. Blair Dob: 04/14/1981 of Janesville

-Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine 100-400 grams
-Possession of a Controlled Substance
-Armed Violence
-Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
-Aggravated Fleeing to Elude
-Driving While License Revoked

~Frederick E. Johnson Dob: 09/29/1990 of Janesville

-Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine 100-400 grams
-Possession of a Controlled Substance
-Obstructing Identification
-Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
-Armed Violence

During the week two other handguns, one of which were stolen, were recovered in narcotics investigations by the Sheriff’s narcotics unit however those cases are currently pending investigations.

The charges against Fizer, Winford, Blair and Johnson are merely accusations and they are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • CPR being performed on someone on N Horsman
  • Traffic backed up near Mulford and Newburg, unknown why
  • Broadway and 10th, Numerous police on scene, unknown why
  • Numerous police were near the 5600 block of Stateline rd, last night

As you know the local police are encrypted and have yet to release any information on any of these incidents

Rockford Scanner™: Suspects Viciously Beat And Rob The Victims in Rockford, One Victim May Have Been Handicapped




Sources are reporting a robbery on the East side.

This afternoon sources were reporting a robbery at Harrison and 20th. 

Suspects are 2 black females in a White 2013 Chevy Cruz 4 door. The plate comes back to an address at an apartment on Holiday drive in Rockford. 

Witnesses told us the suspects viciously beat the victims.  One of the victims appeared to be handicapped. The victims were extremely bloody according to witnesses. 

Police have yet to confirm this, or release any information. 

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: School Bus Accident in Rockford




Sources are reporting an accident involving a school bus around 12:40 pm today. It happened in the northbound lanes of traffic on N Second at Y blvd.

A school bus was involved in the accident, along with a black truck and a white SUV.  Unknown on injuries. The school bus appeared to be unoccupied (besides the driver of the bus) Traffic is backed up heavily going northbound, avoid the area or expect delays.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.








 

Rockford Scanner™: Victim Just Stabbed in Rockford, Possibly 2 Stabbing Victims

Around 12:30 pm today several emergency personnel were on scene of a stabbing in Rockford.

At least one person has been stabbed (Unconfirmed reports are saying possibly 2 victims)  in the 500 block of Cherry on Rockford’s West side. The injuries are believed to be serious via sources, but again not confirmed.

RPD has yet to confirm the scene or release any suspect information or details on the scene.

Sources are reporting a house fire.

It happened around noon today in the 100 block of Atwood.

Reports of a fire inside a residence near this location.

The residents are evacuating the house.

Several fire departments are assisting.

A little after noon today several emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries in Loves Park.

It happened near Forest Hills and River ln.

Reports of an accident and at least one person is reporting injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: Debris Fell Off Bridge, Injures Motorist




Earlier this morning some debris fell off a bridge (or was thrown) onto I-90 near mile marker 15.  That debris hit a motorist.

That motorist was injured. It is unknown on the severity of the injuries.
