Rockford Scanner™: Numerous Emergency personnel Working A Scene On the East Side




 

Sources are reporting numerous emergency personnel at the Fas Mart in the 3200 block of 11th st in Rockford, around 7:30 pm tonight. 

Sources said there is one confirmed battery victim, a female was beaten by a male.  Sources said there was another medical issue (Possibly a 2nd battery victim) at the scene, unknown if it is related to the battery victim incident or 2 separate incidents.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Sentenced For Aggravated Battery & Domestic Battery

State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross

Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that Marcisheo B. Moore (DOB: 1/9/1986) was sentenced to 20 years and 8 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Judge Randy Wilt. The sentences will run concurrently. The defendant will also be on Mandatory Supervised Release for three years after he is released from prison. Moore was found guilty of Aggravated Domestic Battery and Aggravated Battery after a Jury Trial in June of 2018.

On January 16th, 2016, Rockford Police Officers responded to the 900 block of Kent Street in reference to a domestic battery complaint.

Upon arrival, Officers met with a female, who reported she had been attacked by Marcisheo Moore. Police observed face and neck injuries as well as numerous bruises, abrasions and scrapes on the victim at the scene. The victim was transported to a Rockford hospital to be treated. During the follow up investigation Detectives learned that Moore grabbed and strangled the victim to the point where she could no longer breathe. Moore also battered the victim with a metal broom all over her body, head and legs.

Aggravated Domestic Battery is a Class 2 Felony. Because of the defendant’s prior criminal history, the defendant was sentenced as a Class X Felony offender which carries a range of 6 – 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a period of Mandatory Supervised Release of 3 years. The defendant was sentenced to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections per Illinois State Statute. This sentence will be served at 85%.

Aggravated Battery is a Class 3 Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 2-10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by two years of Mandatory Supervised Release. Moore was sentenced to eight years in the Department of Corrections for this offense. This sentence will be served concurrent to the Aggravated Domestic Battery sentence and at 50%.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Dog Attacks A Mail Carrier in Rockford




Sources are reporting a mail carrier has been attacked by a dog in Rockford.

Reports are saying around 4 pm today a mail carrier was delivering mail in the 1600 block of Muldoon Drive in Rockford. (Near Main and Riverside)

A dog attacked the mail carrier.

It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

No other information at this time.

Police searching for a man that stole 2 beverages out of a vehicle in Rockford. Suspect tried to gain entrance to the victims house just prior, then fell asleep in the victims vehicle.

Around 11 am this morning, several emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries in Rockford. 

It happened in the 1100 block of Railroad.

Reports of an accident near this location and injuries were reported. It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries at the time of writing this.

Avoid the area. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
