Sources are reporting a bad accident on the west side.

It happened near Springfield and W State st just before 11 pm.

Multiple injuries are being reported, at least 2 ambulances are on scene.

Rockford Scanner™: Multiple Police From Several Agencies Working A Scene




Sources are reporting a scene on the west side.

Several police officers from multiple police agencies have a perimeter set up in the area of Auburn and Springfield.

We have been told there was a chase with a white vehicle, that ended up near this location. Sounds like the vehicle may have crashed into a nearby cornfield.  The suspects then fled from the scene on foot and police have setup a perimeter.

If you live in the area, or are in the area. Stay inside, just in case they have a police k-9 assisting. No other information is available.

Rockford Scanner™: Fire At A Local Recycling Business




 

Rockford Fire Department responded to a fire at Area Salvage and Recycling at 207 Peoples Ave earlier today. 

Smoke could be seen for miles away.  The cause of the fire was not yet known. The fire was extinguished, but there was some hot spots left.

Sources are reporting a bad accident. 

It happened on RT 2 and Elmwood.

There is an accident on RT 2, injuries are being reported.

Vehicle is reported to have rolled over.

Rockford Scanner™: Woman Shot In The Head in Rockford




On Wednesday, July 3, 2019, shortly after 12:00 a.m., Rockford Police Patrol Officers responded to the area of Albert Avenue and School Street in reference to a shooting victim. Officers located a 33-year-old female victim inside a residence in the 2000 block of School Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Officers also located a group of individuals inside the home, including the resident, who the victim was visiting at the time of the incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit are conducting a follow-up investigation into the incident and looking into the possibility that the shooting was accidental.

Rockford Scanner™: Police Are Investigating Another Armed Robbery in Rockford




 

Sources are reporting another armed robbery in Rockford. 

Reports of a robbery victim at 2327 Kishwaukee, around 11:30 pm. That is located at the Kishwaukee Tap.  It is unclear if the actual robbery happened at the bar or at a different location and the victim went there to contact police.

Rockford Police have confirmed a robbery call there, but did not provide any information at the time of writing this.

Rockford Scanner™: Scene on the East Side, Sources Said possible Death Investigation




UPDATE:

Tuesday, July 2, 2019, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Rockford Police Patrol Officers responded to the 5300 block of Parliament Place in reference to a subject reportedly attempting to break into a window of a residence.

Upon arrival, officers located the 40-year-old male suspect, who was wearing hospital scrubs. Officers took the suspect into custody after a brief struggle. The suspect immediately then suffered a medical episode, and officers began performing CPR. The suspect was transported to a hospital where he later died.

Officers learned the suspect had earlier been transported by ambulance to a local hospital in the area for an unreported medical condition. He then fled from hospital staff and security a short time prior to the reported attempted break-in.

Chief Dan O’Shea activated the Winnebago Boone County Integrity Task Force immediately following the incident, which will conduct an independent investigation.


Sources are reporting a scene on the East side. 

It happened in the 5300 block of Parliment Pl a little after 10 pm.
That is located off of Roxbury, behind St Anthony Hospital.

What we can confirm so far: 

  • RPD and RFD were performing CPR on a person.
  • RPD call log shows this to be an “In progress Person”  in the 5300 block of Parliment pl at 10:03 pm.
  • Numerous police officers and what appeared to be detectives were on scene.


 

In the past, the police have labeled death investigation calls as “in progress person” calls in their call log. Also shootings, stabbings, robberies, etc…


Unconfirmed:  Sources have told us this is a death investigation.  We can only confirm CPR was being performed. We do not know the status of the victim. So we can not confirm the death, only the CPR.


We are awaiting the RPD to release information on this incident.

When they do we will update this.








 

Rockford Scanner™: Vehicle Rolls Over Into A Creek, Rescue In Process




Update:  We have been told the person was arrested.  It did appear the RPD put the person into handcuffs at the scene, before putting him into the ambulance.  Sources have said the person in the vehicle had stolen it, and it was a stolen vehicle. RPD has yet to confirm this.


Sources are reporting a vehicle rolled over into a creek. 

It happened around 11:20 pm tonight on E State just west of Fairview.

A vehicle has rolled over in the Kieth Creek. The victim is standing on the vehicle. Unknown on injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Avoid the area, or expect delays.  RPD is investigating.
